University Alliance Ruhr
The University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) is a consortium of Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, and the University of Duisburg-Essen, the three largest universities in Germany’s thriving Ruhr area. With 120,000 students, 1,300 professors, 13 collaborative research centers and an expansive network of research institutes and companies, UA Ruhr represents one of the largest and most innovative research locations in Germany.
The aim of the alliance is to bundle the skills of all three universities into overlapping research strongholds, share infrastructure, create common research platforms, and promote the Ruhr as a defining region of research and training excellence. To support our global network of international exchange and collaboration, UA Ruhr has created academic liaison offices in North America, Latin America, and Russia.
